My first mountain!

Yesterday me and a friend walked up Ben Lomond. It is 3,300 feet tall and the return trip was around 4 hours. What was incredible was the sudden change of weather (we came well prepared due to stories in the news of foreigners in Khaki shorts and whit t-shirts getting stranded!). At around 3/4 the way up suddenly it was icy, foggy (well, we were in the clouds at that point!) and much steeper. In fact it got to a point where you could see maybe 10 to 15 feet in front of you.

The unfortunate thing was that we couldn't see anything, so we are going to have to do it again. We dd manage to speak with an old timer who seems to do it as a shortcut to the shops and he told us he rarely sees it quite as cloudy as it was so that leaves us soem hope for being able to see something next time.

My legs however are feeling it today i and don't think i'll be away from the laptop all day. Got a lot to do anyway, but what a walk that was.
