Demo, a publisher who i have read more than a couple of books is organizing Glasgow 2020.

Glasgow 2020 is the non-institutional story of Glasgow’s future - a project to
collect-together the imagination of the city through workshops, competitions,
events and creative-projects.

I'll be there - should be interesting to see how others see the future. Haven't seen a mention of technology though - seems to be concentrating on the arts ("poets, writers...") which is odd considering the future will largely be about technology - off course combined with these other areas.
